Maquenzie was the founding member of the acid-jazz phenomenon Fumi which feaured Maxi Jazz of Faithless. As a musician he worked with Black 2 Basic, Josyln Brown, Jimmy Somerville and Push. As a session vocalist Maquenzie sang with NYC, Flying Pickets, Billy-Ray Martin and Fidelle (for Green Island Records). His experience as a producer has seen him working alongside Graham Dixon and Grant Mitchell (for Trevor Horne Productions), with Jhelisa for the film Protagonist (Cannes 1999) and many other original artists. Maquenzie now takes centre stage with his own unique blend of urban-jazz, hip-hop-rock, classically composed melodies encompassed by strong lyrics on his new album Beautiful.
